Our office uses modern, state-of-the-art technology to enhance patient comfort and to help you get the smile you deserve!
Computer Digital Radiography (CDR)
............................................................................................................................................................................
Digital x-rays can now be taken using sensors that transmit the image directly into a computer monitor. This larger image helps the patient understand the doctor's explanations more easily and enables the doctor to "zoom in" on a specific area of the tooth. An important advantage to this new technology is that it reduces the amount of radiation by 90%. Digital x-rays are also faster. The digital image only takes seconds to appear in the monitor. In addition, this new technology is friendly to the environment since no chemicals are needed for developing the image.

Even panographic (full-mouth) x-rays are taken digitally in our office! The imaging geometry of our Planmeca Proline EC significantly increases the diagnostic value of radiographs by eliminating redundant shadows and ghost images. Our Planmeca Digital Panoramic allows limited area of the patient's anatomy be exposed separately, thereby significantly reducing the radiation dose to the patient.

The Simple Science Behind the Dental Health Center’s Odyssey Diode Laser
............................................................................................................................................................................
The Odyssey Diode Lasers are dentistry's most user-friendly soft tissue laser to date.
The term laser stands for "Light Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation", which means a device that produces and amplifies light.

The laser creates an intense beam of light energy that moves through a fiber optic cord. When it enters the targeted tissue, the energy is converted into heat as a result of the tissue's pigmentation. A photo-thermal reaction occurs that results in a much localized thermal effect causing aporization (or ablation) of this targeted tissue, with "very little collateral tissue damage."

The primary use of a soft-tissue laser is the modification or removal of intra-oral soft tissue. The photo-thermal effects of the laser's energy allow the operator to modify tissues and control hemostasis at the same time by coagulation. The post-operative response of the laser care will usually produce a cleaner and healthier surgical site with less discomfort when compared to alternative methods of surgery. Soft tissue lasers enable minor surgical procedures and decontaminate the area at the same time. There is less chance of infection, and some soft tissue procedures around the gingiva can be completed without anesthesia.

The laser also promotes healing for infected and irritated tissues. Since there is a favorable response to laser treatment, the resultant healing is less complicated and often shorter when compared to traditional techniques. In many cases, the laser can also be used to treat deep gingival pockets that harbor bacteria and cause gum disease. An additional benefit of dental diodelaser technology is its ability to reduce the pain and longevity of cold sores and fever blisters.

Intraoral Camera
............................................................................................................................................................................
Our intraoral camera uses a tiny fiber-optic wand to easily take vivid photographs of the inside of your mouth. This allows us to let you see what we see.
Digital Patient Education
............................................................................................................................................................................
We give you options and show you the possibilities using the CAESY (acronym for Clinically Advanced Education System) patient information system. This is a multi-media system that allows patients to access information about a procedure and treatment options in thirty to sixty second presentations. We believe patients should be well informed when it comes to treatment options and procedures. This information helps you to understand how current and future dental care will affect the overall health of your smile. See for yourself how modern dentistry can improve the confidence and appearance of your smile.
